Internet Sharing using a Linux Box

August 31st, 2007

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.

– George Bernard Shaw

The computer world was similar to all of us having an apple each till some time back. And then the wise men from the industry made networks. Ideas started flowing all over and soon came in the internet. The internet has been the best thing that has happened to the computer world so far. It has created a platform where we can share our ideas.

Since the Internet is a large network composed of smaller networks, it made sense to break the address space into smaller chunks. Network classes enable us to break down this address space. In IPv4 the various classes of networks are -

Class A networks have an address range between 1.0.0.1 to 126.255.255.254 and support 16 million hosts on each of 127 networks.
Class B networks have an address range between 128.1.0.1 to 191.255.255.254 and support 65,000 hosts on each of 16,000 networks.
Class C networks have an address range between 192.0.1.1 to 223.255.254.254 and support 254 hosts on each of 2 million networks.
Class D networks have an address range between 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255 and are reserved for multicast groups.

Class E networks have an address range between 240.0.0.0 to 254.255.255.254 and are reserved for the future

Such a system makes things simple and networks are manageable. However, they cannot communicate with each other. The scenario is very similar to how communities grew around the world. With time people from different communities needed to communicate with each other, however language was the barrier. The solution they found was people who understand both the languages i.e. translators. So if you need to talk to a beautiful French girl, all you need to do is get somebody who understands French and can translate English to French and vice versa. Routers /gateways do the same in computer networks. Different networks communicate with each other using routers.

A router allows hosts that are not on the same logical network, like an IP subnet, to communicate with each other. The router receives packets (chunks of data) on an interface and routes them to where they need to go based on a routing table; the table allows the router to have knowledge of where a given logical network is located.

Most offices and homes have small class C private networks. These networks need to communicate with the servers in the internet. The only logical way for them is to use a gateway/router. Linux has routing functionality in the kernel itself which makes it an ideal choice for as routing box.

One simple way of sharing the internet connection using linux is using the IP forwarding feature of the kernel and network address translation (NAT). For NATing one can use either ipchains or iptables. It is assumed that the private network is in the 192.168.1.0-255 range.
Let us take the example of a simple network. The server is used to connect to the internet. It’s IP address is 192.168.1.1. There are 4 workstations 192.168.1.2-5. They are connected to the server via the switch. All the workstations share the internet through 192.168.1.1

The first step is to enable ipforwarding in the kernel of the server (192.168.1.1).

$ vi /etc/sysctl.conf
Change the line
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 0

to

net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1

This would enable ip forwarding.

Then we need to get the server to NAT which can be done via ipchains or iptables.

If ipchains is used, create a file called rc.fw and add following lines

$ vi /etc/rc.d/init.d/rc.fw

#!/bin/bash

# First Load the ipchains kernel module. Required only if ipchains is compiled as a module
.
/sbin/modprobe ipchains
insmod ipchains

# MASQ the full 192.168.1.0/24 network
/sbin/ipchains -A forward -s 192.168.1.0/24 -j MASQ

# List the rules
/sbin/ipchains -L -n

If iptables is used instead of ipchains, create a file called rc.fw and add the following lines -

$ vi /etc/rc.d/init.d/rc.fw

#!/bin/bash

# First Load the ipchains kernel module . Required only if iptables is compiled as a module
/sbin/modprobe iptables
insmod iptables

# MASQ the full network
/sbin/iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j MASQUERADE

# List the rules
/sbin/iptables -L

This would look after all the entire data traffic from the local network to the internet.

Finally add this to the startup -

$ vi /etc/rc.local

Add the line

/etc/rc.d/init.d/rc.fw

This ensures that the settings are retained after a reboot also.

After rebooting the server would do all the routing functions for the entire network.

On the client side all that is required is to set the default router/gateway as the server’s IP i.e. 192.168.1.1. The entire network is now set to share the internet connection.

Foote Notes: Rutgers at Louisville

August 31st, 2007

Rutgers and Louisville collide in Derby City for this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football on ESPN. The Cardinals are priced as 22.5-point home-favorites and the posted total is a towering 65.5.

Rutgers comes in at 6-3 (SU) overall and 3-1 (SU) on the road, but is just 3-5 (ATS) overall and 1-3 (ATS) when away from Piscataway. The Scarlet Knights had won three straight games to become bowl eligible prior to last Saturday’s mistake filled 45-31 home setback against South Florida.

That final score is a bit misleading, as Rutgers outgained the Bulls on the day but had a whopping six turnovers and managed zero takeaways. Scarlet Knight QB Ryan Hart committed five of those six turnovers, two of which were returned the other way for touchdowns.

Nevertheless, this is a much better Rutgers team than most would think. The Knights have put up 30+ points in four of six conference tilts, while producing better than 29 points per game overall and slaughtered Pittsburgh 37-29 earlier this season.

The win over the Panthers is somewhat interesting as a point of reference considering the Knights are priced as a larger underdog tonight than Pitt +20 at Louisville on this same field last Thursday night.

This is also a tremendously strong situation for Rutgers. The Red Knights are now firmly in the green at 15-5 (ATS) their last twenty as an underdog. And even though the Knights fell last week, they are 10-2 (ATS) their past twelve coming off a division loss, including 9-1 (ATS) coming off a double digit division loss.

Meanwhile, Louisville is in off a narrow 42-20 home-win and cover as a twenty-point favorite vs. Pittsburgh. The Cards outgained the Cats by 209 yards overall, but still needed a touchdown run with just 40 seconds on the clock to get in front of the number.

The win puts the Cardinals at 6-2 (SU) and 5-3 (ATS) for the season overall and have been near flawless in their own nest this season. In fact, the Red Birds have snatched the green in all four of their tilts at Papa John’s Stadium this season behind a dizzying 58.8 points per game.

And no, that is not a misprint: The Cardinals offense had eclipsed 60 points in all three home games (63, 61 and 69) prior to scoring “just” 42 points last week. Louisville is now third in the nation in scoring behind only undefeated USC and Texas, along with Texas Tech. .

Dating back further, the Cardinals have soared to an incredible 10-0 (SU & ATS) record their past ten in Derby City overall despite being favored by double digits in every single one of these games! Louisville is additionally 10-2 (ATS) its past twelve as a favorite of -20 or higher and 16-5 (ATS) in its past twenty-one games on the board overall.

Good luck tonight!

Online Insurance Quotes

August 31st, 2007

Obtaining insurance quotes offline is a real drag. You can spend
hours on the telephone repeating your details to life insurance
or household insurance telesales operators in a bid to find the
lowest quotes available. It is a time consuming process that
requires persistence to keep on phoning insurance agent after
insurance agent. You’re often in need of an understanding boss
too who’ll let you use the work phone during your lunch hour!

But, in today’s high-tech era there is an easier and much more
efficient way of obtaining contents insurance, buildings
insurance, car insurance, pet insurance, life insurance and life
assurance quotes. All you have to do is log on to the Internet
and you’ll find a wealth of insurance resources that enable you
to receive insurance quotes online at the click of your mouse
button.

Online insurance quotes…the easy way!

The last few years has seen a massive increase in the number of
businesses establishing an online presence. Amongst those who
have taken to the Internet are insurance companies. There is now
a flood of insurance companies online, from well-known high
street car insurance names to small local life insurance
brokers, all of whom are offering information about their
insurance products over the Web.

What’s more, many of the insurance companies provide links to
online quotes forms, making the process of obtaining insurance
quotes fast and easy. Insurance companies can in fact hand you
competitive quotes instantaneously upon receiving the online
form. They can also direct you to the application form so you
can apply for the insurance online within minutes.

The best places online to obtain insurance quotes are often not
directly with the insurance companies themselves. Instead, those
looking for online insurance quotes should head for specialist
insurance web sites and portals where a collection of insurance
companies can be found on one site. These ‘collective’ sites
offer consumers several advantages.

Firstly, as there are several (if not hundreds) of insurance
companies represented on these collective sites, it is much
quicker to find the insurance companies from which to obtain
your online insurance quotes than when compared to trawling
around the Internet looking for each online insurance agents’
website. The second advantage to using these sites for
collecting your online insurance quotes is that many portals
allow you to collect instantaneous online insurance quotes
through the use of just one single quotes form! So, instead of
going to each insurance agent and re-keying the information
needed to obtain your online quotes, you only have to enter the
information once, saving you bags of time!

But what about price? Surely, if online insurance quotes are not
obtained direct from the insurance (or assurance) agent’s
website then they’ll be more expensive? In fact, the truth is
that they won’t! Specialist portal sites handle all of the admin
and advertising for each insurance agent represented so saving
those insurance companies a packet. Therefore, if you go direct
to the online insurance companies you are likely to receive the
same online prices as you would through specialist portal sites.

6 Guaranteed Ways To Improve Your Traffic With Blogs

August 31st, 2007

Want to increase your daily traffic? How about convincing Google to visit your site more often? There are plenty of ways you can do both, but one of the quickest, simplest, and most cost-effective step you can take is to start your own Blog.

I am not saying maintaining a Blog is a no-brainer, it takes thought and hard-work just like anything else, but the pay-offs are enormous.

Blogs have quickly become one of the most widely used marketing tools on the internet today for one simple reason… They Work! They give the search engines exactly what they are looking for and, if done well, help you built your very own following. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

So start a Blog, install it on your own server, relax, and write. There are great tools freely available on the internet that can supply you with an endless stream of great information to write about, so don’t worry about running out of things to say. While this article is not focused on those tools, if you need some direction we would be happy to help, just send us an email at podcastempire@gmail.com.

No, this article is focused on Promoting your Blog Properly to ensure The MOST TRAFFIC POSSIBLE! And so, on with the show:

1. This one is huge, that’s why it is number 1! If you don’t do this, then you might as well not bother with any of the other steps either because you have already shot yourself inthe foot.

Here is the big secret… Every time you write a new blog entry, PING IT!!! Blog & Ping, Blog & Ping, Blog & Ping… That is how it works, every Ping can be directly translated into hits on your web pages, so BLOG & PING!!! Pinging is simply notifying all the various major Blog Directories on the Internet that you have a new post; every time you Ping, those directories will come and take a look at what you had to say…

So how and where do you Ping? There are a few paid services and only a couple of decent free ones available. We use the Ping Service at http://www.PingTheEmpire.com and have had nothing but success in rowing our various Blogs! You can even bookmark the results page after your first visit and you never have to type anything in again! Just visit the bookmarked page and http://www.PingTheEmpire.com will do the rest.

2. Read other peoples Blogs, leave meaningful comments, and leave behind your own Blog URL and name! Make sure you spend a few minutes to write something meaningful to the topic, or else you comment will likely get deleted.

3. Submit your Blog URL Directly to the Search Engines. You can submit your URL directly to most major search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN all offer submit pages), but we recommend a tool that will submit your URL to MANY engines in one go.

There are a couple of free solutions available, but if you are serious about increasing your traffic, you should definately look into a paid service. This doesn’t mean you have to pay alot… there are paid services like Submit Fire which are very economical (less than $10 per month) and give you tracking tools too!

4. Create an XML sitemap and make sure you list all of your sites webpages, including those of your Blog. Then submit your sitemap to Google at https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login.

Yahoo now also looks for a sitemap of you URL’s, but they want a simple text file, just URL’s and nothing else.

5. Post often and (did we mention Ping? Oh Yeah, we did back in step 1… There is a reason Pinging is listed first!?) use trackbacks if your Blog software provides the functionality.

6. Posting at the right time of day may provide more traffic; Experiment with this a little. Certainly your traffic will depend on the topic you Blog on and the group of people you are Blogging too, but the time of day you Blog is also critical. We have found that a Blog just before lunch (East Coast hours!) and another around 4 or 5 will drastically increase our daily traffic. Even if you write your Blog while you are up watching Letterman, save it and don’t post it (or make it live to the public) right away.

Those are the big 6!! There are more certainly and some of them very good, but that is all the space we have in this article!

If you have any questions, comments, or would like some free helpful information, look through our site http://www.podcastempire.com or send us an email at podcastempire@gmail.com.

Oh Yeah… And did I mention Pinging your new Blog entries at http://www.pingtheempire.com?

3 Forbidden Psychological Secrets That Force Prospects to Buy

August 31st, 2007

What if you can understand and control your customer’s mind?
What if you can influence, persuade and motivate your customers
to buy from you? Well, I’m not talking about a magic trick or
lay down a lesson of motivation. It’s about understanding the
different reactions made by the human mind in various
situations. I’m going to briefly discuss 3 key aspects of
psychological secrets that you can apply in your promotion
efforts for a certain increase in customer response. They are,

1. Curiosity 2. Because / Reason Why 3. Greed

Curiosity ———– What is it? Curiosity can be defined as
“the desire to know the unexplored” in simple terms. People want
to know things that many others don’t know. They like to
discover the ‘secrets’ that only some people know. The desire to
know is a compelling force in marketing, so we have:

* Secrets of the Diet Industry Uncovered * What Time Share
Companies Don’t Want You To Know * Msteries of A Youthful
Appearance Revealed * The Hidden Keys of Car Buying

People don’t want

* How to Diet Successfully or * A Guide to Buying Cars

for example. First set of titles surely outshines the second set
of titles because the former takes advantage of curiosity. You
must design your advertising in a way that arouses curiosity.
Getting to see the powerful of curiosity? (When compared the two
sets above)

Because / Reason Why —————————- Telling people
a valid reason for your action is another great influencer in
human behavior. People will trust you if you can offer a reason
for what you are doing. Say you offer a 50% discount on your
digital cameras for the last 10 days in this month. People are
too smart today and start to think it’s probably because you
want to get rid of your defective products or because its 2 days
before the expiry date (in case of food items). Wouldn’t you and
I think the same way when we see a similar message?

Give them a true believable reason. For example, let’s say you
have a slow time of the year and you want to increase your
business during this period. Make a special, limited time offer.
Offer to throw in an extra free bonus or a special discount
simply because it’s your “slow time” and you need to pay your
staff anyway.

Don’t you think people will believe it? If you can give a solid
reason for a particular action, people will have no doubts about
what you say - there is simply very little room for doubt.

Greed ——- People are greedy - not only for food but for
everything in life. People has “what’s in it for me” syndrome.
They want to know how your product can benefit them. People will
buy benefits and not features. Benefits are “what people get”
and features are “what the product has”. In case of a mobile
phone, people like to see the benefits like,

* Can store over 200 photos * Supports every color you can see

and not a list of features like,

* Has a memory of 6000k * Supports 16-bit colors

Your best bet is to list both features and the benefits, so you
can ‘sell’ the benefits and present specific details about the
product itself.

You must convince people that they are benefiting by buying your
product. Tell people how your product can make their life
easier. Tell them how it can save their time. Tell them how it
can make them popular. List and stress as many benefits as you
can.

I hope this article was helpful to you and wish you very good
luck and success in your future marketing efforts.

Cosmetic Bag Buying Do’s and Don’ts

August 31st, 2007

A make-up or cosmetic bag is essential for every woman who wants to look presentable all the time. If you shop at department stores or even online, there’s a wide range of cosmetic bags available. The problem is you can’t seem to pick one! That’s what this guide is all about - to give you tips and tricks on how to pick that make-up kit that is suited to your lifestyle. There are factors you should consider before jumping to buy a cosmetic bag. Your personal style, durability and of course, functionality all come into play. Read on to know more.

DO

1. Keep with your own style

Get a cosmetic bag similar in design to the purses or bags you currently use. A cosmetic bag is a woman’s ultimate accessory and needs to fit with your entire wardrobe, or a good majority of it, not just what you are wearing at the time when picking out your cosmetic bag at the store.

2. Size matters

If you already have a purse, get a cosmetic bag that is small, portable and can practically fit anywhere. Professional make-up artists and extremely fashion-minded women may need to pick size over style. The Allison Barrett Cosmetic Bag and Bloom Cosmetic Bag are brands that have enough room for most of your cosmetic items.

3. Get functional with special compartments

If the cosmetic bag you choose is equipped with compartments, it will be easier for you to store brushes, concealers and other tidbits orderly and shipshape. Inspect the bag for special compartments - these are usually tough and will keep your things from getting damaged.

4. Make a statement

Cosmetic bags let you travel in style since you can choose an array of designs, sizes and colors. Nylon bags are more popular because it is custom-made with three different appealing designs. You don’t want to be seen with a dingy old purse, would you?

DON’T

1. Overpay!

You can buy a small cosmetic bag from $5.00 to $10.00 or designer bags that may cost up to a searing $100.00 or more. Some bags come free if you buy a whole set of make-up.

2. Choose style over durability.

Cosmetic bags need to be strong and sturdy especially when traveling. Durable types of bags include Europe/U.S. size Conversation and the Wisteria Cosmetic Bag, which is known for its water-resistant lining and vintage feel.

3. Underestimate black

If you don’t have the time to take care of your bag, pick one that is easy to clean to make its shelf life last longer.

4. Put everything in your bag

Choose what things are essential to you. You don’t have to bring a hundred pounds of make-up when going to a party, to work, a girlfriend’s pajama party, or even traveling. Bring the basics - like a tube of lipstick, mirror, blush, a brush, foundation or powder, eye shadow, eye liner and mascara.

Here’s a list of essentials every woman should have in their cosmetic bag.

- A tube of lipstick

It can serve as a blush on too that can make you look fabulous in seconds. If you still have space, throw in a lip gloss for that extra shine.

- A mirror, preferably flat and compact for your cosmetic bag

Double sided mirrors are available for $3.00 to $5.00. Its hard to apply make-up without seeing your face right?

- A set of brushes

These are always important for touch-ups. You can buy a complete kit filled with miniaturized brushes that costs anywhere from $5.00 to $10.00. Of course, it is mandatory that you bring eyeshadow palette that you use regularly - buy one with all the colors that you trust. Don’t buy one that you haven’t even tested on your skin. Mascara and eyeliners are also indispensable for those occasional touch-ups.

- Blush

Bringing this along might be quite tricky because most of them come in big sizes. Choose one that is light, flat and compact. This is a basic element for that natural-looking healthy glow.

Remember, your make-up kit is a miniature version of your make-up case. If your bottle of foundation is too big, transfer some to a smaller bottle that seals tightly. Choose compact style mirrors and flat brushes to save space. You can also bring a traveling toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and facial tissues.

It’s Time To Be Thankful

August 31st, 2007

If I could provide one single tip to encompass all of the fundamental concepts of time management, goal setting and self-mastery, it would be this. Be thankful for what you have and the fact that you have the opportunity to have any circumstances at all. Each day, and even each moment, is an opportunity for you to begin to create the kind of world that you want for yourself.

You have the same 24 hours in each day as every other person walking the earth and who has ever walked the Earth before you. This doesn’t mean that you are no more special than any of those other people. It means that you are just as special as all of those other people.

During the holidays it is most likely that you will have a bit of chaos. Things will happen that are outside of your plans. To have the most stress free holidays with your friends and family set your goals for what you actually want as an outcome and then focus on the actions necessary to get you to that outcome without getting hung up on the possible roadblocks and bumps you might encounter along the way. When you focus more on what’s actually important, instead of focusing on the little problems, you’ll find that you get more done, you feel less stress, and you’ll be able to enjoy your time with your friends and family.

Time management is essential for having a successful holiday season, however if there is lack of motivation, time management can be a struggle. Motivation is maintained by focusing on the goals that you have set for yourself about the kind of a holiday that you want. This form of time management and goal setting doesn’t have to be formal, but you should at least make a list of the things that are important for you to achieve this holiday season. Then you can put actions in your to do last that lead you to the completion in the achievement of those goals. Remember: a goal is not a to do list item. Your to do list is for the actions that you should be taking to achieve those goals.

If you are planning a big meal for friends and family, try changing some of the habits that you normally have for keeping track of your goals and to do list items. Clear off a section of your refrigerator door and put up a magnetic whiteboard. Or get different colored sticky notes and color code different to do list items and post them in locations where those actions are most likely to happen. If there are holiday tasks that another friend or family member is going to complete, partner with a friend or loved one who can help keep track of those tasks and come up with backup plans in case that person is unable to complete it on time. This way you’re not focusing on managing other people’s tasks as well as trying to take action on your own.

But again remember how lucky you are and be thankful that you do have friends, family and loved ones to share these holiday times with. Sometimes it’s the chaotic events and little mistakes that make the best stories in years to come. So cherish all the moments you have and focus on the many, many things that you have to be thankful about this holiday season.

Natural Arthritis Pain Relief - By Doing Simple Arthritis Exercises

August 31st, 2007

Treating arthritis is not easy.

Apart from the regular medication, proper diet, rest and
relaxation, doctors also recommend arthritis exercises.
These are specially designed exercises for people with
different types of arthritis. Exercising is a must do for
all people suffering of arthritis because it will help them
increase the flexibility of the joints, increase bone
vigor, muscle strength and energy levels, so they will have
a better control of their weight and a strong heart. But
most of all, exercising will help keep joints completely
movable and will fortify the adjacent muscles. This way,
arthritis sufferers will experience less pain when
performing the everyday activities. So it is fair to say
that arthritis exercises are strongly recommended for
arthritis patients by all the doctors in the world.

But depending on the type of arthritis one person might
have, the doctor will recommend a certain type of
exercises. People should not choose the exercises program
on their own; instead, always ask your doctor what
exercises are recommended for their type of arthritis.
Depending on the severity of the condition and which joints
are affected, the doctor will propose a certain type of
exercising program.

There are three types of exercises: range of motion,
strengthening and endurance. Range of motion exercises, for
example dancing, are the ones that move the joints in all
directions, as far as possible. These are the easiest type
of exercises recommended for all types of arthritis because
they will keep the joints mobile and will prevent
stiffness. Doctors advise their patients to perform a range
of motion exercises every day, or at least every other day.
The number and intensity of exercises can be gradually
increased as the patient gets in shape.

Strengthening exercises include isometric and isotonic
movements. Isometric exercises are the ones that work the
muscles without moving the joints, while isotonic exercises
work both the muscles and the joints. Both types of
movements help with building strong muscles around the
joints that are causing problems. Stronger muscles will
better support the joints, meaning pain will be reduced and
the patient will move more easily. Unless the patient has
swelled joints or severe pains, the doctor suggests doing
strengthening exercises every other day.

Endurance exercises are the ones that improve the
cardiovascular condition by increasing the heart rate for
at least 20-30 minutes. Not all arthritis patients can
perform endurance exercises. Depending on the patient’s age
and physical condition, the doctor will recommend or not
endurance exercises and also the type of exercises.
Walking, bicycling or swimming are the best choices because
their joints are not that stressed by these type of
activities. For example, making exercises in warm water
will help in two ways: the warm water will aid by
decreasing the pain and relaxing the muscles, and at the
same time the water will be supporting the body, this way
placing less stress on the joints. Endurance exercises
should be performed three times a week for about 20-30
minutes.

There are also other types of simple exercises that can be
done by all arthritis patients. The every day activities
can be easily transformed into arthritis exercises. In the
morning when you get up and get dressed, try to amplify
your movements, this way the morning stiffness of your
joints will rapidly disappear. Also, take every chance to
do some household activities like: wash the car or do the
dishes because these movements will help decrease the pain
from your joints. When you watch television, during the
commercial breaks get up of your chair and do something;
even small movements burn calories and help you reduce your
weight. You can also park your car a little further away
from office or home as walking will do you good.

Before beginning an arthritis exercises program, always
consult an experienced doctor or a physical therapist. They
are the ones that can advise what exercises are recommended
for specific types of arthritis. They can suggest a
particular type of exercises for inflamed and swollen
joints or certain exercises for particular joints. The
exercising program should be started with easy exercises,
but the difficulty of the movements should be gradually
increased. The patient should also be careful to thoroughly
warm up before starting the exercises and cool down after
finishing the program.

Although exercising is good for arthritis patients,
occasionally some people can get into some uncomfortable
conditions: augmented weakness, constant fatigue, joint
swelling or pain that lasts more than one hour after
exercises are finished. This means that exercises are too
strenuous and the patient should talk to his doctor and
make the necessary changes in his exercises program. After
finding the ideal arthritis exercises program, the only
thing that patients have to do is to strictly follow it and
the improvements will soon appear.

Home Care for the Declawed Cat

August 31st, 2007

Remember, you are now rehabilitating a handicapped indoor
animal, so plenty of TLC is necessary, especially for the older
cat. You will find that your pet is tender for at least the
first 2 weeks after surgery. The normal running, jumping gait
can take up to 2 months to return. There is a possibility
regardless of all precautions, post-operative lameness problems
may persist even after the patient is healed from surgery.

Some Home Care tips:

* Keep your pet’s normal food and water in a low, easily
accessible spot to prevent her from jumping.

* Line the litter pan(s) with shredded newspaper instead of
litter (do this for one week at least.)

You Can Expect:

* Some lameness for up to 2 weeks.

* Hesitancy to jump.

* Some light scabs at the edge of the toes.

Please Report:

* An animal walking 3-legged and persistently holding up one paw.

* A lethargic cat acting very tired and refusing to move.

* A cat not eating.

* A cat persistently licking at one spot on the paws.

* A cat with drainage or bleeding from the paws.

If you observe any other unusual behavior, please contact your
veterinarian immediately.

The above is general veterinary information. Do not begin
any course of treatment without consulting your regular
veterinarian. All animals should be examined at least once every
12 months.
